Most businesses know what they spend on ads. Far fewer know what that spend actually makes them once every number is counted. Those are not the same question, and the gap between them is where budgets quietly bleed.

Here is the trap. You look at the ad account, see revenue going up, and assume it is working. But revenue is not profit. An account can pour out sales and still lose money once you account for your margin, your close rate, and what it cost you to get every click in the first place. The ad platform will never tell you this. It reports revenue, because revenue makes the platform look good.

So we built a calculator that does tell you. It walks your funnel one stage at a time, from a single click all the way through to the profit that actually lands in your account. No sign-up, no email gate. Run your real numbers below.

A directional estimate based on the numbers you entered. Revenue return counts top-line revenue per dollar spent; true ROI counts only the profit that revenue leaves behind, which is the number that actually pays you. Real campaigns vary month to month. Use this as a starting point for a conversation, not a forecast.

How to read your result

The calculator gives you two numbers, and the difference between them matters more than either one on its own.

Revenue return is revenue divided by what you spent. It is the number most agencies show you, because it almost always looks good. A 4x or 5x revenue return sounds healthy. It tells you very little.

True ROI on profit is the honest one. It takes the revenue, applies your actual profit margin, subtracts every cost, and tells you what is left. This is the number that pays you. If it is negative, your funnel is losing money no matter how good the revenue figure looked.

When those two numbers are far apart, your margin is doing all the work, and you are one bad month away from underwater. When the true ROI is strong, the question changes: it stops being “does this work” and becomes “how much harder can I push before it stops working.” That ceiling is where most growth gets left on the table.

If your funnel came back underwater

Do not assume the answer is to cut spend. It usually is not. A funnel that loses money is rarely an ad targeting problem. It is a problem somewhere upstream:

A weak visitor to lead rate means your landing page is not converting the traffic you already paid for. A weak lead to customer rate means the leads arrive but the sales process drops them. A thin margin means even good conversion cannot dig you out. The ad account is often the one part working fine.

That is the whole point of breaking the funnel into stages. You stop guessing. You can see the exact step that is costing you, and that tells you what to fix first.

The bottom line

An ad budget is not a cost or a gamble. It is a system, and a system can be measured. Once you can see every stage, you can find the leak, fix the leak, and then scale what is left with confidence instead of hope.

Run your numbers above. If the result is tighter than it should be, or you want a second pair of eyes on which stage to fix first, that is exactly the kind of thing we do.
